Sorry, i wanted a subject title that might grab me some attention, not that it's a good idea to pay attention to me. If fact i'd advise against it. Anywho, I blame Nicky and Marissa, though i don't know their screen names on here but they dragged me here and it's all there fault. ;_; Granted though i did volunteer to join and try to get back into RP . . .>_> So yeah, I'm Pandamaster, but just Panda for short is fine. I've been reading the rules and regulations already and will no doubt reread them to ensure i've got it all straight. The 'holy crap' subject line refers to how boggled my brain is right now at the sheer scale of operation going on here. To say i am impressed it an understatement. Actually overwhelmed would be better. Any advice on how to keep it all organized in my head would be loved. I'll do my best to flesh out a character as soon as i can. EDIT: Where can i find a blank copy of the Character bio set up? Or should i just copy and empty an existing one? I've been poking around in the logical places i can think of but no such luck. I wanted to be able to copy it into a word doc to start tinkering around but still follow the format of all the other bios i took a peek at.

Hey Panda, welcome to SD! We're glad you're impressed with the site but as a downside, it's got tons of info that you ought to look into.
Since it seems you have read the Book of Laws, I now need to direct you to the "Site Protocol" link - it is equally important and you must read it to receive the password for the profile board, which is called the "Character Transcript Generator". There is another password embedded in that and you need it to access the board. The Book of Laws password is used at the bottom of each profile. You also need to read the "Character Dialog/Thread Limit & Dialog Text Symbols" thread Leathurkatt and I established.
I also insist you read the following in the Site Guide itself:
- Katt's Site & Canon Info Thread = I didn't notice this until recently, but she compiled all the more essential links including the Site Protocol into one thread for new members to use. Please read the following provided in that link...
- "Character/Thread Limit and Dialogue Text Symbols" under Site Rules & Info - A rules addendum and standardized symbols and thread tagging system used on the site.
- Basically everything you can manage under "Character Information" - please check the dialog color claims thread if you want to use color with your characters' lines. We have so many we like to individualize them by color. Some members still haven't posted claims and it's kind of annoying to those that use them all the time.
That's about it really. I know it's a lot to look at, but at least you won't be jumping into ice cold water with bare feet that way . I hadn't realized Katt had made that thread, which saves me tons of copy/pasting the necessary links. Feel free to respond or PM me or Leathurkatt if you've got questions about creating a canon - we allow G1 characters as well as 'most' other characters from other continuities as long they can feasibly fit into the plots and the environments in the RP. (like GLADOS, the Knight Rider characters, Spy Hunter, Freelancer Texas and Private Donut from Red vs Blue, EDI from Stealth, you name it -- we got a lot of cross-over characters here other than the main canons.)There are two important warnings I must address, one of which Chasm and Archetype already warned you about. Secondly, my responsibilities as a Profile Manager have been altered slightly due to the amount of techno organics we have. I have no idea what kind of character you plan to make, but if they are under 18 years old, I will be more judging than I usually am.

YAY info dump! XD Thank you so much!
Now some of that i did read already but some was skimmed over once i started to feel overwhelmed and my brain when into shut down mode. No doubt i'll read and reread until i feel comfy with it all and can get questions answered if any come up.
As for a character, all i have decided on is a human surgeon fresh out of medical school. So like 28 or 29 years old. I didn't want to come up with anything more detailed until i was settled with rules, regs and how to build the character bio according to the set up ya'll have. I couldn't see a point of writing myself into a corner and then finding out none of it would be accepted. ^_^

You're welcome, glad I could help . I'm glad to know you're making an adult character -- I heard from Chasm they would be a NEST member too. If so: we're finally getting more, yay! oO I have three, one is canon. Chas, and any of the staff are always happy to clarify things if needed so dun hesitate to ask more questions. Since I RP Will, I will be likely making a thread for all the NEST operatives soon so they can get to know each other. He needs more threads.
EDIT: Since you're making a medic (or surgeon - not sure if you mean he'll/she'll have training as a field medic or not), if they're gonna be helping on the field or with humans, he'll/she'll be working with one of my PC's, SgtMajor Joanne Rhodes - she's a new Cheif Medic on the human side of things at NEST. I also RP Ratchet. Ratchet's daughter, Danielle Messick also helps a fair bit. So I'm pretty involved with the medical personnel >.> - at least your char won't be the only surgeon/medic around - I realize they're two different things.

Hi there! Nice to meet you Panda. I would be the one the others have been talking about, the info guru for the site. I think I need to apologize to Jetta though, I thought she knew about the Site Guide. XD There is a link button that says "Guide" in the side bar above the Chat Box on the right. I made those link buttons under the Space Bridge Generator to hopefully make it easy for members to find the info they need. As Jetta said, if you have any questions, feel free to poke one of the staff and we will direct you to the one who can best answer your question.
Also, make sure you use your member account to post in any non RP boards and post your character bios with that character's account. Also be sure to check your Private Messages as the staff sometimes send updates and information to the members that way. You can also send questions to staff and let me know of new and completed threads so I can attend to them.

Also, make sure you use your member account to post in any non RP boards and post your character bios with that character's account. So wait . . . i should be making another account with whatever name i decide on for my character? I want to be sure i read that right, my brain farted the first time. I'm guessing that's just to ensure all characters are kept straight, with name matching the toon that's in the RP thread at the time. Yes?

Yes, we all are required to have a 'main' account, this one would be it, since it matches your Chatango ID. Mine is the same way, as is everyone else's for the most part - cept for Chasm and Archetype I think. It's easier to manage when posting in numerous threads is all. Keeps the site organized.
Sorreh, forgot to mention that >.<
