The battlefield was but a blur, the sounds of blades, metal, cannon fire, the sounds of war echoed through the ground, the air, the very skies, but the reflectionless black femme saw and heard none of it now. As all hell broke lose around her she set her focus on only one, they quarry she had hunted so long. Sisters by birth, enemies by some sadistic twist of fate, it was time to end this, the pain, the regret, the pain that had sunk so deep into her spark, and the cause was now before her. //”Chaos, Sanity. . .you have been my most faithful companions and friends for all these years, for that I cannot express my gratitude. But this is one fight I must face alone. Go to Ironhide, he’ll take care of you. . .you know what I must now do.”\\ she sent to her sentient guns, no, they were more than that, they were her friends, all she had during those vorns going from planet to planet, she knew they would be in good hands in Ironhide’s care, and she was counting on that.
As Sanity and Chaos climbed down her legs and to the ground, they gave remorseful beeps, knowing what their old friend intended, but they did as asked, knowing, sooner or later, this day would come. Huntress stood there, atop the cliff she had chosen as her vantage point, looking down as the battle raged, blind to it all, all except her sister, once beloved now loathed, Omnibane. The mere second she hesitated felt like an eternity, she sighed “Today. . .is a good day to die. . .” she said to herself as she pulled her crimson moon blade from her back. She then leapt from the cliff, massive black wings opening wide, tilted to angle smoothly in the wind as she sliced through the air towards Omnibane, meeting her gaze just as she was upon her younger sister. Omnibane pulling her knife from her hip and leapt at the larger black femme, the blade sinking deep into Huntress’s shoulder as the stoic fighter hooked her arms under Omnibane’s and shot upwards with her sister in tow, struggling to keep her grip as Omnibane pulled the knife free, stabbing into Huntress’s frame time and time again, the winged femme no longer cared, her body was unlikely to survive this as it was, she merely continued upwards, taking the full brunt of Omnibane’s anger and hate, gashes opening deep throughout her frame as the younger sister thrashed, tore bits of armor free as they topped over the clouds.
Huntress pushed higher still as Omnibane resorted to her Quasar rifle, aiming for whatever she could hit on Huntress, melting holes into the larger femme’s armor, her wings protected by their force field generator luckily. She went until the air was too thin to climb farther before looking to her fighting sister “This ends. . .” she said, a look of panic coming across Omnibane’s face as if, in that moment, she realized Huntress’s intentions. It was then that Huntress began barreling towards the earth below, her wings detaching from her back to remove all wind resistance and sending them both plummeting though the air.
Huntress’s grasp on her younger sister did not let up, it only tightened as Omnibane gripping onto her older sister’s armor for dear life. “You’re going to kill us both!” Omnibane shouted as the earth grew nearer. Huntress just looked to her sister evenly, her visor retracting, ignoring the pain of the light right now, in this moment it no longer mattered. “I know. . .” Huntress answered, her tone even, calm, as if she expected it to end this way all along, she had never intended to survive her final confrontation with her sister. She did not fear this end, for at least she knew that all the pain Omnibane had caused, all the pain she harbored, would end with it. As they drew nearer to the ground, Huntress wrapped her arms around her sister despite Omnibane’s struggles against the action “Forgive me. . .my sister.” she said moving the blade she had held between Omnibane and herself a mere moment before impact.
When they hit the ground, to the two involved, it felt as it the would stopped for just that split second, the crimson moon forcing right through Omnibane’s chassis and spark chamber with the force of impact behind it, parts from both sisters littered the ground, the armor only distinguishable by it’s shine or lack there of. The two battered, torn and twisted bodies of the two sisters laid within the center of the debris, the smaller one cut almost completely in half, the crimson red blade that had given the fatal blow twisted and bent within her ruined chassis. The larger femme missing chunks from her armor, joints bent at angles that would be impossible without breaking all gears within, yet her arm remained around the smaller femme, her optics still lit but growing dimmer as the fluid drain from her twisted an mangled frame. But a final sigh was heard as the last bit of dark sapphire glow faded from those optics, her systems shutting down one by one until it was merely silence. The two dark femmes, both feared and respected in their own right, were simply still, the deed had been done, and their end seemed inescapable.
