Disclaimer: Out of character speaking, this organization was made to support the reason behind creating the "Spartan suits" as seen in the famous canon game Halo. The actual characters apart of this organization are originally copyrighted to a popular web series called Red vs Blue! - most of the series is on Youtube as well. This does not follow the canon series exactly, and the canon characters' histories are tweaked a little to fit BWC and their ability to fit on the site just enough for their existence to be reasonable. Original characters do NOT belong to me or their RPers. This has been created just for fun!
Episode guide
Black Water Corporation
What is BWC? BWC is an internationally-abroad organization that was funded illegally by bribes made to some members of the canon organization Sector 7. While Sector 7 and other secret government activities like Area 51 get proper government funding, BWC does not, much like the POE. It gets paid by its international sponsors like the POE themselves( * ) as well as illegal activities in the US (major drug dealers and other countries mostly). With the money they have collected, BWC takes ex military personnel as their main recruits and spends big money to undergo their technological endeavors which they hope to accomplish which involve heavy duty Cybernetics. BWC formed many years after Sector 7, sometime after ROTF.
Country sponsors: Saudi Arabia, India, North Korea, possibly more.
Primary organizational connection: POE
BWC Locations: Sadui Arabia (Secondary HQ), and somewhere (TBD) in the US as their primary location.
Focus:
BWC's main focus is a technological/scientific endeavor called Project Spartan, and they also focus on developing their own AI's to aid the few selected for this project in future combat situations to test the suit and the experiment's performance. In conjunction with the AI experiments, Project Spartan emphasizes a brand new, schematic of a fully armored, battle ready suit that can be used in more extreme conditions as well as every day non-Cybertronian combat situations. In 2012, BWC developed the schematics for their prototype which is called "Prototype Spartan Armor" (aka PSA). A couple years later, they began testing it and recruiting military rejects, people fresh out of the military (like Tex), or people who just wanted to contribute to something 'good'.
The Prototype Spartan Armor is now mastered, but the AI's are certainly not. Because of this, the corporation has begun to delve farther into Cybernetics, and thus resulting in humans like Tex, who end up having parts of their body as more robotic than anything else. They've done their fair bit of research, and have connections with Jack Hurst (profile will be linked here once it's made), who used to have a history with the Foundation for Law And Government. Jack Hurst had been originally responsible for the rebuilding of KARR back in 2008. He used people with in FLAG and outside of it to complete the project. He is also responsible for funding the rebuilding of the UCAV EDI. KARR wasn't online for long though, so soon after his destruction, Jack turned his attention away from FLAG and focused on more long term engagements- the recently formed POE and BWC. Jack gave up his focus on KARR for something a little easier to reach.
With his insight, he helps not only the POE, but the BWC as well. He lends himself to be of use for both organizations, who have yet to work against each other because of the BWC having a much smaller focus.
The Prototype Spartan Suits:
The suits themselves are more complex than any the militaries have ever seen. They allow a soldier to survive in space and other extreme conditions, though they still have to take care of their body's nutrition of course. The armor is made out of extremely tough alloys and also uses nanotechnology to generate certain abilities.
What are the abilities? Some of them will vary. Some suits like Agent Tex's allow invisibility. Others like Agent Washington's allow self repair similar to KITT's function only at a slower rate. The abilities aren't that extreme, none of the suits allow extensive 'super strength' or 'super speed'. BWC does have schematics for a jet pack to be used in space if it was needed, but they have not had to prepare for such missions yet. Their numbers are small enough it wouldn't be feasible to make it even with the sponsors involved in the project.
All black areas of the suits are layered with a softer metal and 'tissue', and thus are weaker - especially to Cybertronian metals. However, the main armor is very hard to damage depending on the momentum build up or type of weapon used. Damaged received will also depend on where the hit or strike actually lands. Go for the softer metal under the legs or near the shoulders, you got a pretty good chance of causing damage and making a soldier frustrated. The soft areas are needed for sake of sacrificing strength for endurance and maneuverability on the ground. The BWC wanted to make sure their subjects were able to do any normal maneuvers a human with no armor could managed, and it just meant they had to do a little compensation for it.
Key weaknesses:
Helmet functions:
The Project Spartan AI's:
Sometimes, officials like Jack Hurst thinks the BWC bit off more than they can chew. The AI's that they designed are the key problem with these suits. While they work, not all their subjects welcome them, and some like Private Donut and Tucker booked it when they found out about what happened to Church and their higher ranking subjects Agents Washington and Texas. With the expense of the suits and the AI's some of them have, they have a fairly high bounty on their heads.
AI functions:
(this is a WIP, it may be changed depending on how things go in the RP, but this is the skeleton for now)
The AI's themselves offer stead fast logical observations and advice when in and out of combat situations - they work solely with one host, though there have been issues with this from the start. There are four AI's total, and one of them got loose - the supposed Alpha AI, the original AI created. The three of the others which got proper hosts were Epsilon, Omega and Delta, and they remained with them.
Omega was one of the feared ones - when Omega was created, the other AI's that were supposed to be made changed to save themselves. Sector 7 was able to over take BWC's base in the US when Omega briefly abandoned his host to let her go nuts on her first test run after her experiments were complete. Going feral and forgetting all she was, Tex busted out out of the international facility in pure rage. The officials chased her out towards the gulf nearby where suddenly an explosion erupted and everything fell silent on the local frequencies. Omega snatched what other memories and data he could of the other AI's, and the surge of power caused Tex's suit to shut down shortly after the blast occurred. Because there was no way to reverse the implant, Omega was forced to get along with Tex.
Omega wasn't the only one that had problems. Back in the US, Epsilon was undergoing his own experimental problems, for according to Sector 7, it is supposedly the original AI.
After these occurences as well as the escape of a few main subjects caused BWC to weaken significantly. Sector 7 caught wind of the news when some collateral damage occurred (particularly with the news of men finding a woman with odd technology on her right arm recovered by a secret organization in 2020).
Bounties:
Sector 7 over took the BWC in 2020 after the "Epsilon and Omega incident", and set bounties on those that managed to run off in fear. The bounties were separated into two categories, one for bringing the suits intact so they could properly dispose of them, the other for the weapons or AI's they had. They are still searching for the supposed Alpha AI all though they have been unable to track it and guess where it is hiding.
Some of the main subjects on the run are young soldiers Lennard Church, Franklin Donut, Tucker (I'll get his first name later), and Michael Caboose. The two other higher ranking officers that were in Project Spartan are ex military officers Agent Tex, New York, and Washington.
Records show that Tex has the Omega AI and Wash was given Delta by another subject (New York) after the implantation failed by chance. However, these two do not have bounties given their transfers out of the BWC.
Tex was salvaged by POE members and was registered to the POE by order of Jack Hurst and Washington was supposedly recovered by Sector 7 and worked out an agreement to help find the other subjects dead or alive. Tex's duties are much different from Wash's since she is part of the POE. The only thing Jack worries about is Omega's stability and its intentions.
See the BWC Bounties/Chars Up For Grabs thread in the Plotting Board for details on the bounties AND other plots concerning these characters.
